eBay’s look book is a trailblazing, interactive electronic book that showcases the hottest holiday gifts through the decades found on eBay. The look book generates a sense of nostalgia for the must-have products of the past such as Roy Rogers’s Guitar, Chatty Cathy, 8-Track tape players, the original Nintendo and Tickle Me Elmo. The Kaplow team created a micro site that allows editors to flip through the “pages” of the look book to see and read about the products as well as view live listings for each item on eBay.com. The Target team opted for a more traditional printed look book distributed to long lead holiday gift guide editors at the Target holiday press preview event in July. The look book highlights Target’s best gift offerings and tells the media what the hottest products are this holiday season – everything from Isaac Mizrahi’s fashion line to Victoria Hagan’s home décor offerings.
Both look books have been well received by media resulting in placements in major outlets such as Better Homes & Gardens, Seventeen, InStyle, ABCNews.com and Newsweek.
