mark. hosted the first ever Fantasy Fashion League: Beauty Edition draft party on Tuesday, July 25, 2007. The event introduced editors to the FFL beauty game and mark.’s newest product, the “Little Block Box”–a customizable shimmering cheeks/eye color compact.
Sixty beauty and accessories editors from publications–such as O, Elle, People, Teen Vogue and WWD–gathered at “91,” a blank space and catering venue located at 91 Horatio Street and Washington. The guests met with FFL creator Erica Salmon–introduced by mark. President Claudia Poccia–and played a mini FFL game. Editors customized their own “Little Block Box” makeup compacts as large screens posted throughout the space provided up-to-the-minute player results.
The event visuals corresponded to the draft party theme. Servers wore referee striped shirts. Concession stands offered mark.-branded potato chips, popcorn, soft pretzels and nachos. Appetizers included mini burgers, fries and hot dogs in the form of cubes to echo the shape of the “Little Block Box.” And guests left with a customized “Little Block Box,” “Hook Up,” foundation products and bag of mark. fall accessories, clothing and jewelry.
Editors got into the competitive spirit of the game and received a post-event email blast officially announcing the winners. WWD wrote a story about the event for the Friday edition, July 27.
