I was fortunate to attend multiple panels during Social Media. The panel entitled “National Brand Voices & Hyperlocal Audiences: What is Engagement?” caught my attention.
The discussion focused on how brands can best utilize social media at a local and national level. The main takeaway from this panel was that it is so important to have everything in Social Media connected. If a brand has local Facebook pages, they still need to ensure that the information is consistent with the national page. Social Media is important for brands, but less is more. A brand shouldn’t dive into every aspect of Social Media. Instead, the focus should be on doing one thing, doing it right and then going from there.
